MusicXML is a new music notation format which is being developed by a company called Recordare. They have developed a Finale plug-in which allows you to import SharpEye's MusicXML files into Finale. This means that much more information can be transferred than using MIDI. For example, information about stem direction, beaming, expression marks such as staccato and accent, ties and slurs are all lost when SharpEye makes a MIDI file.
